Oak Cliff Cemetery is situated on Northern Blackland Prairie lands that were settled in the 1830’s by a pioneer named William S. Beatty. He deeded “ten acres, more or less” of his 640 acres of land to the growing pioneer settlement along the West bank of the Trinity River for use as a cemetery. After falling into disrepair in the 1940’s, this cemetery is now maintained by the Oak Cliff Cemetery Association and their volunteer Board of Trustees.
