Six Month Report 2025

March:
Dead and dying trees were cut down, at a cost of $4,000, paid for by the remains of funds held in trust for us by the Dallas County Pioneer Association.

April:
Eagle Scout candidate David Dwyer headed up a project with many of his friends to install guide posts which divide the cemetery into 42 sections from A1 to G6. They also installed a platform for our rain barrels, which are themselves an attempt to protect the $1,100 investment in native plants, due to lack of a waterline.

* Fort Worth Avenue Development Group reached the $10,000 fundraising goal to install a waterline for the cemetery, however no progress has been made on the actual installation.

May:
We met with representatives from the city Parks Department and the City Water Department to discuss the challenges of keeping the new plants alive due to not having water access.

June:
We met with Dallas County Commissioner Elba Garcia to discuss the challenges of keeping the new plants alive due to not having water access. Commissioner Garcia has arranged for a 350 gallon water tank to bring water to the cemetery every other Wednesday to help keep plants alive due to the lack of a water line.

* Thanks to $5,000 received from the Summerlee Foundation through the efforts of the Constellation of Living Memorials many headstones In the cemetery are in the process of being repaired.
